On this bed an overhead hoist (out of the picture) was situated in a way where you couldn't use the long side of the cot, so we made a headboard opening door in the cot.

Concertina doors to prevent the chance of baby falling out whist doors are being opened,  base made at level so knees can be under mattress level in use with a wheelchair.
This base level the lady was using a very high electric wheel chair.
